Work Environment

The role will be situated onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center located in Elmont, NY. Our facility is equipped with the latest therapeutic technologies and offers a welcoming atmosphere for both staff and patients. Team members work collaboratively in a supportive environment, dedicated to facilitating recovery through teamwork and shared expertise. The work schedule includes 40-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patient's conditions and develop tailored treatment plans in collaboration with referring physicians.
• Implement therapeutic interventions for patients in a variety of settings, including our rehabilitation center and home visits, ensuring continuity of care.
• Utilize advanced manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to address patient needs and facilitate recovery.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment processes, self-care strategies, and preventive measures to enhance health outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maximize treatment effectiveness through shared insights and interventions.
• Achieve established productivity goals and contribute to the overall growth and financial objectives of the practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physical therapist in this role will primarily work with patients experiencing orthopedic conditions, including post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Additionally, the therapist may also serve patients with pediatric, neurologic, and sports medicine backgrounds, requiring adaptability and a broad knowledge base to meet diverse therapeutic needs.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is mandatory.
• A valid Physical Therapy license is required to practice in the state of New York.
• A minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization such as the American Heart Association.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication proficiency, enabling strong interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Proficient in computer applications and documentation systems related to patient care.
• Capacity to build meaningful relationships with patients, fostering a supportive and trusting therapeutic environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience utilizing specialized modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, or advanced manual therapy techniques.
• Prior exposure to a multidisciplinary treatment approach is advantageous.
• A track record of engaging in community outreach or educational programs is beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this rewarding position ranges from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
