Imagine a career where you don't just provide therapy, but actually become the beacon of hope for those in need. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the sweeping landscapes of McKinney, your expertise will not simply address communication and swallowing challenges; it will also help illuminate pathways to confidence, connection, and community. From young children experiencing the joy of their first words to older adults reclaiming their ability to interact meaningfully, the impact you make will be profound.
This is an opportunity that allows you to engage with a diverse population, delivering exceptional care across various settings. In a lively and supportive environment, whether you are excited about early childhood language milestones, are passionate about helping adults overcoming neurogenic communication barriers, or wish to assist seniors in cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you will find your passion and flexibility here.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients applying standardized assessments and detailed observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate goals and extensive communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions that encompass language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
- Work in conjunction with physical therapy staff, occupational therapists, nursing teams, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop holistic care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and family members to empower continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Conduct occasional evaluations and interventions for inpatient speech therapy, ensuring a seamless transition through the care journey.
- Keep precise and timely documentation maintaining compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations.
- Engage in continual professional growth by staying current with innovations in the field through educational opportunities and inter-professional exchanges.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Required state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) offered by ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within 30 days of starting employment.
Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods suited for individuals of all ages, alongside a sound understanding of developmental and acquired communication challenges.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Flexibility in adapting therapeutic methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical judgment with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and adeptness with documentation requirements.
Benefits
- Competitive salary reflective of experience level.
- Flexible scheduling promoting work-life harmony and a variety of case loads.
- Options for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
- Various options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- Support for continuing education expenses and professional development.
- A collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that emphasizes quality care and lifelong learning.
A Passionate Career Awaits You
In this dynamic role, you will not just be a provider of services; you will become part of an inspiring mission to enhance communication, foster deeper human connections, and create joyful moments through the simple, yet powerful acts of understanding.
You will join a team that values collaboration and camaraderie, creating a familial atmosphere while tackling the challenges faced by your patients together. Each patient brings a unique story, and we will depend on you to help craft and articulate those narratives in empowering ways.

Who We Seek
We're looking for a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist who embraces empathy in their practice. This is someone who observes a quiet child and imagines a heartfelt future of expression, who listens to a stroke survivor and hears their unwavering determination.
Your background may vary — perhaps you have specialized in working with children and wish to branch out into adult care, or you might be a clinician focused on neuro rehabilitation eager to bring early intervention techniques into your repertoire.
Whatever your motivations, if you are ready to shine with compassion and lead with professionalism, we would love to meet you.
Let's Weave Stories of Communication Together
If you hold firm to the belief that speech is not just sound, and that therapy is more than mere tasks; if you cherish the idea of building trust as a precursor to goal-setting, and find joy in both humor and language, this could be the ideal chapter in your professional journey.
Join a community that cherishes communication, connection, and the resolute courage to start anew. Apply today, and let your voice resonate in our team — guiding others as they find their own voices.
