What if your next professional journey allowed you to empower countless individuals to find their voice? As a Speech Language Pathologist in the charming community of McKinney, your role transcends mere treatment of disorders related to communication and swallowing. Instead, your work will be a catalyst for growth, rekindling self-assurance, and fostering connections across generations—from children uttering their first syllables to older adults striving to regain their independence.
This position offers a remarkable chance to make a difference in the lives of diverse patients. You'll engage in outpatient therapy while occasionally contributing to inpatient care, ensuring a comprehensive approach. Whether your passion lies in pediatric speech development, navigating adult neurogenic issues, or providing cognitive rehabilitation for older adults, you'll discover your path to fulfillment and flexibility within this role.
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients representing pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing standardized tools and observational methods.
Create customized treatment plans tailored to meet both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
Implement individualized speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing communication abilities, language skills, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing capacity.
Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to develop cohesive strategies for patient care.
Provide valuable education to patients and their families, fostering progression outside of clinical environments.
Support inpatient evaluations and therapies on occasion, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout rehabilitation.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation that aligns with compliance standards set forth by state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Engage in ongoing professional development through educational pursuits and collaboration with peers.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited academic institution.
Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the ASHA certification has not yet been obtained.
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques applicable to all ages, along with a comprehensive understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Exceptional interpersonal communication capabilities that strengthen relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Flexibility to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment paired with effective problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and compliance with documentation standards.
Competitive salary reflecting experience and capabilities.
Flexible work schedules to promote a healthy work-life balance with diverse casework.
Opportunities to pursue specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday compensation.
Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
Reimbursement for continuing education and support for professional growth.
A collaborative environment that values a team-oriented approach to care and ongoing learning.
Step into a Role That Aligns Passion with Purpose
In this position, you're not merely providing therapy—you're becoming part of a mission that revitalizes voices, nurtures connections, and cultivates joy through the shared human experience of communication.
You will collaborate with colleagues who value camaraderie, and thrive in an environment that champions cooperation over competition. Each patient has a unique narrative, and we will rely on your expertise to help articulate their story.
