Interim Controller / CFO (Real Estate Finance Transformation) Location Cincinnati, OH Remote with occasional travel Duration 6+ months The client has a real estate transaction that has recently signed and has a more unique ask looking for an interim "super" controller / CFO to assist with Transition / insourcing of a fully outsourced finance function / bookkeeper Overseeing system implementation of MRI - which is a specialized software for real estate property management Traditional controllership / FP&A needs - financial reporting, financial statement close, day to day accounting Key resource attributes Industry experience with real estate Familiarity with MRI Financial / controllership experience / CPA. We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller / CFO to support a real estate organization during a critical transition period. The role will lead the insourcing of a fully outsourced finance and bookkeeping function, oversee a new MRI property management system implementation, and manage core controllership and FP&A activities. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong accounting leadership, real estate industry experience, and the ability to operate both strategically and operationally. Key Responsibilities Lead the transition and insourcing of finance and accounting functions from an outsourced provider Oversee and support the implementation of MRI (real estate property management system) Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations Own the monthly and quarterly financial close process Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting Provide FP&A support, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls during the transition period Serve as a key finance leader partnering with executive leadership Required Qualifications 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Strong real estate industry background Hands‑on controllership experience (financial close, reporting, accounting operations) Familiarity with MRI software (required or strongly preferred) CPA strongly preferred Experience leading finance transformations or insourcing initiatives Ability to work on‑site or locally in Cincinnati #J-18808-Ljbffr
