Compliance Manager, Corporate Compliance Location: Arlington, VA Role Overview The Compliance Manager works as part of the Legal Department’s compliance team and will provide subject matter knowledge with national and international legal compliance standards to ensure governance across CoStar’s global brands and products. This is an individual contributor role with significant autonomy and accountability. The role involves identifying compliance risks, coordinating advice from outside counsel, implementing controls and processes, managing compliance program workflow, resolving challenging compliance problems, and communicating clearly with business stakeholders. It supports the day‑to‑day execution of legal compliance programs including policy governance, gifts and entertainment requests, sanctions screening, and business ethics training and communications. Responsibilities Own, implement, administer and manage the company’s legal compliance program. Design, manage, and deliver ethics and compliance training programs. Serve as a trusted advisor to employees on ethics and business conduct matters. Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks and implement controls and processes. Conduct legal and compliance risk assessments. Develop, draft, enhance and implement compliance policies, procedures and related training. Manage the company’s sanctions compliance program and daily screening. Monitor regulatory developments and enforcement trends and recommend program enhancements. Escalate and resolve project issues, manage change requests, and monitor project status to ensure on‑time delivery. Maintain compliance support operations processes and related GRC workflow tools, act as point of contact for business partner compliance inquiries, and collaborate across teams to ensure compliance and privacy support processes are fulfilled and operating smoothly. Perform risk reporting; create reports to inform stakeholders and risk owners. Analyze business initiatives, products and processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; exercise sound judgment to assess and balance risk. Develop, test and monitor compliance program controls and program effectiveness. Prepare reports and metrics for senior management and the Audit Committee. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person college or university. 5+ years of regulatory compliance and project management experience (Project Management Professional certification a plus). Detail oriented, well organized and technically adept. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong computer skills – MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). High degree of professional ethics and integrity. A track record of commitment to prior employers. Preferred Qualifications Experience with one or more of the following compliance frameworks, controls, and best practices: AICPA Trust Principles (SSAE 18 – SOC 2 and 3), ISO 27000 series, NIST 800 series, regulations governing anti‑corruption and bribery, and other regulatory compliance frameworks. Direct experience working with GRC platforms, such as Osano, OneTrust and Descartes. Experience with international growth and implementing local jurisdiction‑based compliance programs. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working cross‑functionally with lawyers and non‑lawyers, including software engineering, sales and product teams.
