Commercial HVAC/Refrigeration Technician

Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems using building automation systems (BAS/BMS) Work with BMS technicians to adjust systems and improve equipment performance Inspect, maintain, and repair building HVAC, refrigeration, and related equipment Complete preventive maintenance tasks to maximize equipment life and reduce downtime Review work orders, estimate materials, and complete repairs promptly Maintain inventory of parts and supplies Perform emergency repairs and respond to urgent facility issues Complete maintenance records and documentation Support general building maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, and painting repairs Assist with managing contractors and vendors Respond to internal service requests and facility support tickets Troubleshoot complex equipment controls and building systems Train and support other maintenance team members Build positive relationships with internal customers, vendors, and team members Follow company safety policies and OSHA requirements Requirements High school diploma or GED Universal CFC Certification 3+ years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience, or a combination of related education and experience Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical documents Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Commitment to personal safety and the safety of others Ability to complete OSHA 10 certification within six months of hire Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PDF applications Experience working with building automation systems (BAS/BMS) preferred Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred Basic knowledge of budgeting and maintenance cost management preferred Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs or ladders Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to work in mechanical rooms and various facility environments Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in HVAC and refrigeration systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, with a strong focus on building automation systems (BAS/BMS) and compliance with safety standards.
