The ideal candidate is a technically strong, self-driven engineer who can support and lead portions of multiple design projects, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, and contribute high-quality technical solutions across a wide range of building and industrial systems. This role is well-suited for someone ready to take on greater responsibility in project execution, design leadership, and client coordination within a collaborative team environment.The ideal candidate can design electrical systems (high voltage, power distribution, power generation, energy storage, lighting, fire alarm) for a wide variety of multi-disciplinary (A&E) project types, including but not limited to:Mission CriticalLaboratoriesHealthcareAdvanced ManufacturingUtility Plant and campus distributionCorporate CommercialResponsibilities include:Design electrical systemsAssure complete documentation of engineering requirementsPrepare and adhere to budgeted hours for projectPerform or oversee load calculationsDevelop system applicationsCoordinate designs with architecture and other engineering disciplinesMaintain project files and calculations for assigned projectsAssure quality and completeness of the engineering designPerform and/or supervise on-site condition surveysMonitor conformance to project scope and document deviations at the time of discoveryPrepare technical reportsParticipate in client meetings regarding engineering systemsMentor staff and provide supervision to other engineering team members on a projectYour capabilities and credentials:Registered Professional EngineerUp-to-date knowledge of appropriate codes and technologiesProficient in the use of engineering design and documentation toolsProfessional knowledge of a broad range of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architectureKnowledge of advanced engineering principles and calculationsEffective communication skillsEducation and experience:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university7+ years of experience in building designTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
