Job Summary PT Instructor, Music – Applied Voice (part‑time, adjunct). Salary: $2,075.12/CAH – $2,322.27/CAH. Start Date: Fall 2026. Closing Date: Open Until Fulfilled. Location: Chabot College, 25555 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward, CA 94545. The Chabot College Music Department invites applications for a part‑time Applied Voice Instructor. The successful candidate will give high‑quality, student‑centered instruction in private voice lessons and contribute to a vibrant, diverse musical community. Duties and Responsibilities Teach applied voice lessons to students of varying skill levels and musical backgrounds, preparing them for juries, recitals, masterclasses, auditions, and other performance opportunities. Fulfill all part‑time faculty responsibilities, including classroom assignment, student evaluation, curriculum oversight, student advising, professional development, office hours, and any assignment‑specific needs. Participate in program and subject‑area improvement tasks such as creating and assessing Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), program review, and curriculum development. Minimum Qualifications Master’s in music OR Bachelor’s in music AND Master’s in humanities OR the equivalent. Evidence of understanding and responsiveness to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, and its relation to equity‑minded classroom practices. Applicants under the “Equivalent” provision must explain how their academic preparation equals the required degrees. Desirable Qualifications College‑level teaching experience in applied voice. Demonstrated expertise in a variety of vocal styles, including classical, musical theater, and commercial music. Evidence of ongoing professional performance or scholarly activity.
