Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a growing team in Pennsylvania in a long-term contract capacity. This position is ideal for an accounting specialist who enjoys building structure, supporting core financial operations, and contributing across both transactional and general accounting activities. The role will partner closely with plant leadership to strengthen day-to-day accounting processes, improve documentation, and support accurate month-end reporting.Responsibilities:• Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice review, payment processing, customer invoicing, cash application, and follow-up on outstanding balances.• Organize and improve supporting financial records by researching missing documentation, resolving discrepancies, and establishing practical AP and AR procedures.• Support banking activities through timely reconciliations and assist with month-end close tasks to help maintain accurate financial reporting.• Work alongside the Plant Controller to monitor inventory-related variances and provide accounting support tied to plant operations.• Prepare journal entries and assist with accruals, general ledger maintenance, and fixed asset accounting as responsibilities expand over time. • Contribute to operational and financial reporting by compiling data, reviewing account activity, and identifying areas that need follow-up or correction.• Help maintain accounting compliance by applying internal controls and ensuring transactions are recorded with complete and accurate support.• Use QuickBooks Online to process transactions, maintain records, and support daily accounting workflows.• Assist with tax-related accounting needs, including sales tax tracking and support for corporate tax reporting requirements.
