This is a hybrid position requiring the team member to be onsite for 3 days per week. Job SummaryThis position will join a centralized cost accounting team located with West's Financial Services team. You will be responsible for the accounting across multiple manufacturing sites including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare journal entries related to manufacturing accounting and inventory reserves to support accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and corporate financial policiesProcess manufacturing orders as part of the month-end close processParticipate in other monthly close activities for plants in area of responsibilityPrepare account reconciliations to ensure proper balance sheet valuationCalculate standard costing of products in SAP as part of new product workflowMonitor variances to standard cost and correct any erroneous errorsSupport the periodic cycle count processReconcile 3rd party warehousesEnsure appropriate controls and compliance with US GAAPSupport and assist other functions within the business as requiredEducationBachelor's Degree Accounting or Business with concentration in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience required Work ExperienceMinimum 3 years Accounting required Preferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAccounting experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment using SAP or other ERPUnderstanding of GAAP and internal control principlesHighly proficient in written and spoken EnglishWorking knowledge of MS Office or the willingness to learn it quickly with highly proficient Excel skillsStrong communication skillsStrong people skills – approachable, good listener, empatheticStrong learning capacityAbility to work independently in global environmentAble to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job DescriptionAble to comply with the company’s safety and quality policies at all timesAdditional RequirementsMust be able to understand direction and adhere to established proceduresMust be able to communicate effectively, speak in front of groups, express and exchange ideas and understand directionMaintain the ability to work well with others in a variety of situationsAble to learn and apply new information or new skillsRead and interpret data, information and documentsMust be able to multi-task, work under time constraints, problem solve, and prioritizeAbility to make independent and sound judgmentsDemonstrates enthusiasm, takes accountability and drives for results #LI-JJ1 #LI-HYBRIDTravel Requirements10%: Up to 26 business days per yearPhysical RequirementsSedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
