About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified IMC RN in Shreveport, Louisiana, 71101!

• Provide intermediate care nursing for a diverse patient population including respiratory failure, CVA, DKA, sepsis, post-surgical, post-cardiac cath with intervention, ETOH/CIWA, IVDA, and AMS cases
• Titrate cardiac drips, vasopressors, and insulin drips; manage and pull venous sheaths
• Perform central line management, tracheostomy care, feeding tube management, BiPAP, chest tube care, wound care, and blood product administration
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3-4; may float to Cardiac Stepdown or Med/Surg units (ratios up to 1:5-6)
• Pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival (required of all travelers, including Med/Surg RNs)
• Participate in every-other-weekend rotation and work 2 of 3 major holidays as expected

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible

• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers are welcome)
• Strong background in stepdown or intermediate care nursing with vasopressor and cardiac drip management

• Traveler-friendly unit with a diverse, supportive culture and robust on-unit resources including an in-house phlebotomy team, VAT team, dedicated respiratory therapist, and 24/7 hospitalist coverage
• Free parking available in designated areas; no on-call requirements
