Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (QCC) Department: Oncology Schedule: Full Time Shift: Days Job Description Daviess Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Physician Assistant (PA). Position requires the ability to educate patients and families on medications, diseases, treatment plans and procedures for a diverse patient population. Effectively collaborate with members of the healthcare team to offer the best patient care and ensure good outcomes are achieved. Develops treatment plans. Educating and guiding patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle habits. Understands the changes in health promotion throughout the aging process. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served. Performs diagnostic tests and screening evaluations. Managing overall patient care regarding lifestyle and development issues. Emphasizing preventative care and disease management. Communicates appropriately and clearly to coworkers. Prescribes medications while using medication references as needed. Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family. Revises plan of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment. Completes computerized documentation in patient's charts in appropriate time frame. Knowledge of established clinic policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Qualifications Current Nurse Practitioner License or current Physician Assistant license Current BLS certification. ACLS certified. Oncology experience required.
