Medical Assistant for Busy Interventional Pain Practice

The Pain Center of Arizona Tucson Clinic is seeking a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented team member to support a busy interventional pain practice. In this role, you will help create a positive patient experience while assisting the clinical team with daily operations, patient flow, and administrative support. The ideal candidate is professional, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and help ensure a welcoming, efficient clinical experience
• Prepare exam rooms and assist with room turnover between patients
• Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and medication information as directed
• Support providers with clinical and procedural tasks within scope of practice
• Assist with patient education, instructions, and follow-up coordination
• Manage telephone calls, messages, scheduling support, and patient communication
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Coordinate supplies, equipment, and inventory needs for daily clinic operations
• Follow all infection control, safety, and privacy procedures
• Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other team members

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting preferred
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
• Comfort working with electronic medical records and basic computer systems
• Understanding of medical terminology and patient care workflows
• Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and patient confidentiality
• Certification or diploma from an accredited medical assistant program preferred

Preferred Experience

• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, anesthesia, or another specialty practice
• Familiarity with procedure-based clinical environments
• Experience supporting patient scheduling and follow-up coordination
