Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Intermediate/Stepdown Rn Neuro

Schedule: 12-hour days (06:4519:15) Shift options: 36- and 48-hour rotations

Assignment Details: Contract Length: 1326 weeks accepted

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years recent RN experience required
• Neuro Stepdown / PCU / IMC / Telemetry experience required
• Travel experience required; unit will NOT accept first-time travelers
• Licensure: NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience
• Skills: Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management, IV therapy including blood product administration and central/PICC/peripheral line care, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Specific neuro skills: post-op neurosurgery care, lumbar drains, seizure management, and intracranial bleed care

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for neurological sub-specialty and medical intermediate patients
• Monitor and manage patient vitals and neurological statuses
• Administer medications and titrate IV drips as per protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

Compliance / Notes:

• Weekend requirement: minimum 3 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• RTO after booking is NOT allowed and cannot be worked out onsite; call-offs and additional RTO can result in cancellation/DNR call-off policy strongly enforced
• Orientation: 32 hours (includes 8-hour computer class + two unit shifts after hospital orientation)
• Pre-start modules required; completed pre-start (non-billable)
