Retail Sales Kitchen and Bath Designer

Position Overview We are seeking a results-driven Senior Designer with a strong sales-oriented mindset to join our team. The ideal candidate will not only create stunning and functional kitchen and bath designs but also guide clients through the entire process, from initial concept to securing a final commitment and deposit. This role is pivotal in converting design prospects into loyal customers, and the successful candidate will be empowered to approve and sign off on all designs before they move to the production phase. Essential Duties and Requirements Sales Duties Drive the sales process from initial client consultation to design finalization, ensuring a smooth and positive customer experience that culminates in a signed agreement and deposit. Actively work to convert design consultations into sales, demonstrating the value of Village Handcrafted's products and services to prospective clients. Be accountable for meeting or exceeding sales targets for custom cabinetry and design services. Assist with the management of retail sales leads that come in and convert warm leads to closed sales accounts. Work directly with clients to lead the custom cabinetry sales and design process. Create proposals based on client specifications. Get signatures from clients. Collect payment as needed. Assist in maintaining long-lasting relationships with clients. (I.e. routinely check in with clients whose projects were finished to determine if they have other projects that VHC can assist with.) Lead the customer selections process with regards to finishes, door styles, cabinet accessories, etc. Develop and maintain strong relationships with repeat builders, designers, and clients. Assist clients in showroom and help complete walk throughs and communicate possible custom cabinetry options. Be a subject matter expert in all products offered by VHC. Build and maintain referral relationships with industry vendors (Such as, architects, builders, kitchen & bath designers, interior designers, engineers.) Maintain relationships with VHC clients. Cultivate robust relationships with clients and suppliers for long-term collaboration. Assist with market research to uncover growth opportunities. Coordinate with the Marketing department to align strategies. Provide consistent sales support for client satisfaction. Attend events on behalf of VHC. (I.e. events at VHC showroom, industry events, networking events). Enter updates as needed in Contact Management System (I.e. Smartsheet, CRM/ERP system). Design Duties Hold final sign-off authority on all design drawings before they are released for production, ensuring accuracy, feasibility and alignment with client expectations. Take ownership of the design process, from initial measurements to the final, approved design, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail. Manage the production of design approval drawings. Conduct jobsite measurements and accurately record applicable site conditions. Staying up to date with new trends and products to curate beautiful, functional, and smart spaces for our clients. Go on site to client locations to assist with taking measurements and sketching up details of the work order. Develop and maintain open communication and a strong working relationship with in-house teams (Sales, Engineering, Production, and Installation). Ability to maintain focus while working individually. Strong time management skills to stay on track. Demonstrate strong time management, multitasking, and customer service skills. Deliver exceptional customer service. Skills and Experience 5+ years of experience in, at a senior level, designing custom, modular cabinetry, and architectural millwork 5+ years' experience in cabinetry project management preferred. 2+ years proven experience in sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets. Proficiency utilizing cabinetry design software (20/20, Chief Architect, Cabinet Vision, Sketchup, AutoCad etc.) Strong space planning, organizational, and follow-up skills Creative, problem solver with a strong attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication with a professional presentation and attitude Experience and ability to accurately take jobsite measurements and read a tape measure. Prefer candidates will have a bachelor's degree or 5+ years of senior level working experience related to Interior Design, Architecture, or Construction Management. Physical Requirements Employees may work in loud work areas including but not limited to: working production level woodshop, active residential construction sites, etc. Employees will be required to navigate active residential construction sites, occasionally climbing ladders, measuring in small / confined areas, walking on uneven surfaces. Employee is expected to be able to problem solve, make well thought out decisions and be organized.
