Special Education Teacher Aide

Position Type: Support Staff / Special Education Teacher Aide Date Posted: 5/11/2026 Location: Niagara Academy Date Available: 09/01/2026 Closing Date: 05/19/2026 Job Description The individual will provide services in special education programs at a small, specialized high school with students focused on job skills, independence, and academics. The individual will need the ability to take direction, be flexible, be patient, and work collaboratively as a team member. The individual should have knowledge regarding or experience with students with disabilities. Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS) and de‑escalation training is preferred. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position may include the abilities to regularly and repetitively stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, crawl, kneel, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40lbs. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Requirements Requirement: Civil Service – Non‑competitive. High School Diploma or GED required.
