Special Education Teacher

Pay: Starting at $48/hr - PAY IS NEGOTIABLE Hours: M-F 8:15a-4:15p Schedule: May vary based on location Qualifications: Valid NY teaching certification In Special Education. MUST HAVE High School and/or Middle School grade level experience MUST HAVE experience working within general education classroom with supports Ability to work collaboratively in a co-teaching environment Experience working with students with a range of disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, autism, developmental delays, etc.) Experience working with diverse student populations, particularly in urban settings. Case manager experience for students' IEPs, including lesson modifications and small group support. Skills & Experience: Proven experience in lesson planning with clear objectives and assessment methods Strong organizational and communication skills Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and educational technology. Strong knowledge of special education laws, techniques, and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal. Skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks, IEPs, and progress monitoring. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students with special needs succeed. Previous experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting is preferred. Ability to lift and move classroom materials and equipment as needed. Ability to assist students with mobility or physical needs as required by their IEPs. Responsibilities: Co-teach alongside general educators in a classroom setting with approximately 26 students Serve as the case manager for students' IEPs, including lesson modifications and small group support Develop and implement accessible, content-based curricula in collaboration with team members Assess student progress through formal and informal methods Build students' academic and socio-emotional skills to promote overall development Communicate effectively with families and support teams to coordinate student services Classroom and school environment, which may include both individual and group instruction. May involve working with students in various settings (classroom, therapy rooms, or outdoor spaces). Frequent interaction with parents, staff, and administrators. #J-18808-Ljbffr
