Accounting Assistant

Accounting Operations Support

This position will support daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, billing, payroll, and light human resources administration.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, reconcile statements, and assist with payment processing. Accounts Receivable: Prepare customer invoices, apply payments, monitor outstanding balances, and assist with collections. General Ledger: Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and assist with month-end closing. Billing: Process and review customer billing for services, training, and equipment sales. Payroll: Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping verification, employee pay adjustments, and payroll reconciliations. Human Resources: Provide administrative HR support, including employee onboarding and offboarding, personnel records, benefits administration, and maintaining employee information. General Accounting: Maintain accurate financial records, assist with reporting, and support other accounting and administrative functions as needed.

Qualifications

Previous hands-on accounting experience required. Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, billing, and payroll. Familiarity with basic HR administrative processes preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software. Experience with UKG Ready payroll and HR software. Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience in a service-based business or similar environment.
