Your Opportunity Stantec is looking for a Project Manager with deep understanding and knowledge of various technology systems for the built environment. The position reports to one of our U.S. West offices (LA, Irvine, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento, Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, Portland). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project involvement – approximately 85% of time managing telecommunications services, voice, data and video transport systems, electronic security systems, nurse call/clinical communication systems, and systems integration concepts. Design leadership: translate client and owner requirements into drawings, specifications, cost opinions, technical reports, and assessments. Project management experience across architectural/engineering/construction design delivery processes. Represent Stantec as a technical expert locally and regionally. Maintain awareness of operational, technical, regulatory changes in government, commercial, and healthcare environments. Deliver client drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, and other deliverables. Act as QC reviewer on projects. Prepare written recommendations and reports to clients. Collaborate with other disciplines, client agencies, vendors, and consulting/engineering firms. Represent Stantec clients with government agencies, commercial and healthcare organizations. Maintain holistic view of complex technical solutions designed and implemented by teams. Provide site inspection and implementation management for technology systems. Apply industry, technology, and project management expertise to meet client requirements within established timeframes and budgets. Collaborate with A/E/C project teams to differentiate Stantec and add technical value. Develop and maintain reference materials related to area of expertise. Prepare white papers and articles for industry publication. Develop standards documentation and perform quality control documentation. Nurture existing client relationships and proactively pursue opportunities for new business. Develop and deliver client presentations. Active member of the Technology Consulting Group in the U.S. West, working on multi-disciplined design teams for projects in Healthcare, Higher Education, Commercial and Government/Military. Demonstrate a client‑first approach in developing relationships. Strategically evaluate opportunities and challenges and incorporate well‑developed consulting and technical skills into each client interaction. Learning/Maintaining and Expanding Technical Skills Develop knowledge of technologies, trends, and markets applicable to project types and continually strengthen skills. Proactively pursue additional knowledge in related disciplines through in‑house and external training. Meetings, Initiatives, and Projects Attend in‑house project meetings and potential out‑of‑office client meetings. Actively participate in meetings, initiatives, and projects that support Business Center and company goals. Assist in development and maintenance of drawing standards and specifications. Participate in industry/client events. Your Capabilities and Credentials Excellent client communication and relationship skills. Experience in technology analysis and design, including writing, communications skills, and public speaking. Demonstrated expertise in planning, design, and optimization of complex networks in healthcare, enterprise, and government environments. Experience in site development, equipment manufacturing or construction industry and/or familiarity with construction processes. Deep understanding of voice/data systems, IT/telecommunications, wireless systems, electronic security systems, and audio‑visual systems. Fluent in best‑practice design techniques and planning methodology. Strong knowledge of applicable codes and technology standards (NEC, BICSI, ANSI/TIA, FGI, etc.). Skill in researching and writing technical papers and reports and effectively communicating to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Strong interpersonal communication skills and client or customer service experience. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form and comprehend complex direction. Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver coordinated design. Strong understanding and experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Meets or exceeds project goals and expectations and project performance metrics. Travel required up to 10% of the work month, including regional, national, or international travel. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field; comparable experience acceptable. Eight (8) years’ experience in analysis, design, installation, maintenance, and/or repair of systems. RCDD certification highly desirable. Revit experience preferred. AutoCAD or similar drafting software experience desirable. Certifications such as CCNA, PE, CTS, PMP, PSP, etc., preferred. Experience in healthcare technology, biomedical engineering, or clinical engineering highly desirable. Office Location and Schedule Stantec BC 2804 location in Los Angeles, Irvine, or San Diego, CA. Flexible work schedule: three days in office (including Wednesday) and two days working from home. Pay Range Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD, various CA, NJ areas – $111,200.00 – $166,900.00 annually. Locations in WA, DC, various CA, MA areas – $119,300.00 – $179,000.00 annually. Locations in NYC, CA (Bay Area), NJ (RP) – $127,400.00 – $191,100.00 annually. Benefits Summary Regular full‑time and part‑time employees (≥20 hours/week) have access to medical, dental, vision plans, wellness program, HSAs, FSAs, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, AD&D insurance, short‑/long‑term disability, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage, and paid family leave. Employees receive ten paid holidays per calendar year and accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year, with paid sick leave in accordance with state and local law.
