Job Title: Staff Accountant (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Charlotte, NC

Pay: $65000 – $70000 / Year ($31–33/ hour equivalent)

Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

About Our Client:

Addison Group is partnering with a well-established organization in the manufacturing and distribution space to identify a Staff Accountant for their growing accounting team. This is a fully onsite opportunity offering exposure to a variety of accounting functions within a collaborative environment.

Job Description:

The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, assist with month-end close activities, and contribute to financial reporting and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives in a hands-on accounting position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly and annual close processes
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger activity
• Perform account reconciliations and analyze financial data for accuracy
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll-related functions
• Track fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accruals
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Help improve accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial needs
• Create reports and assist with special accounting projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 3–5 years of accounting experience preferred
• Manufacturing or distribution industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience working within ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively within a team environment
• Dependable, proactive, and self-motivated professional
