Part-Time Personal Assistant / House Manager
Arcadia – Phoenix, Arizona 85018

A private household in Arcadia is seeking a mature, self-motivated Personal Assistant / Dog Nanny / House Manager to help keep the home, schedules and day-to-day responsibilities organized and running smoothly. The ideal candidate is a Type-A self-starter who takes responsibility, communicates well and naturally looks ahead to anticipate what may be needed.

Schedule & Compensation

Approximately 30 hours per week
$30 per hour

Responsibilities

• Help keep the principal organized and assist with day-to-day personal and household needs
• Run errands and handle grocery shopping, dry cleaning and other household tasks
• Manage and coordinate care and maintenance of household vehicles
• Assist with two small dogs, including washing, taking them to the groomer and veterinary appointments, and picking up after them
• Periodically care for the dogs when the principals travel; flexibility is available if the candidate is not always able to accommodate travel dates
• Oversee the home and identify maintenance or repair needs before they become larger issues
• Coordinate with vendors, including AC, plumbing and other household service providers
• Knowledge of Control4 is preferred, or the ability and willingness to learn the system
• Grocery shopping and meal preparation, with an emphasis on clean, healthy food
• Light laundry and occasional household cleaning as requested
• Refresh and prepare the home as needed
• Assist with preparations for hosting guests and events
• Help maintain a private airplane hangar, including cleaning the hangar floors, coordinating cleaning and keeping necessary items stocked
• Handle garbage and other miscellaneous household needs when necessary
• Maintain schedules, appointments, reminders and household to-do lists
• Keep accurate track of hours worked
• Communicate clearly, ask questions when clarification is needed and over-communicate when appropriate to ensure everyone is on the same page
• During downtime, proactively identify projects or tasks that can be completed to make the household run more efficiently
• Anticipate upcoming needs rather than waiting to be asked

• Able to work independently and prioritize effectively
• Comfortable communicating frequently with the principals
• Enjoys working with and caring for small dogs
• Comfortable preparing simple, healthy meals
• Able to manage household vendors and maintenance issues
• Willing to learn household systems and technology
• Lives within a reasonable commuting distance of Arcadia
