POSITION: Site Coordinator

LOCATION: McKinley School

DEPARTMENT: McKinley

REPORTS TO: McKinley Site Director

STATUS: Part Time, Non-Exempt

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the McKinley Site Director, the Site Coordinator supports daily operations, staff supervision, and program delivery for the Before School, After School, Mentoring, Apple Technology, and other WBGC programs at the McKinley School site. This employee must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment in child development and safety practices, and the ability to coordinate staff, activities, and functions in alignment with Wakeman Boys & Girls Club policies, procedures, and mission. This position involves daily travel between the Southport Clubhouse and McKinley School during the school year.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

• Assist with designing and implementing daily schedules and weekly/monthly activities based on objectives established by the Site Director.
• Support implementation and daily operations of the Mentoring Program at McKinley.
• Facilitate Apple Technology lessons and activities at McKinley School and the Southport Clubhouse.
• Manage daily attendance, reporting, and monitoring in the Daxko member tracking system.
• Serve as primary supervisor for the Before School and After School Programs at McKinley in the Site Director's absence.
• Maintain accurate records of ASP and BSP staff schedules, program space use, and member participation, including documentation required by grants.
• Ensure safe program spaces and premises for all members, staff, volunteers and visitors during program hours.
• Incorporate STEAM, sports, fitness, healthy lifestyles, social-emotional learning, social studies, and leadership activities into ASP programming as assigned by the Site Director.
• Support training and ongoing performance evaluation of After School Program staff.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding member needs and issues.
• Serve as a primary first aid provider during after school time.
• Serve as liaison, as needed, between program staff, Site Directors, and FPS faculty.
• Create and support a member-focused culture by modeling positive relationship-building skills.
• Foster a climate of innovation and resolve problems to ensure member satisfaction.
• Assist the Site Director with registration, grant documentation, and related administrative tasks.
• Lead activities within ASP as needed.
• Actively participate in staff meetings and/or related training.
• Work occasionally early morning, evening, or weekend hours with advance notice.
• Adjust hours for School's Out Days and summer camp as needed in coordination with a supervisor.
• Represent WBGC at meetings and training with partners and grantors as needed.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Firm understanding of child development.
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office software.
• Demonstrated organizational, staff supervision, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to multitask in an active, youth-oriented environment.
• Clear understanding of cultural competency.
• Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.

Education, Training and Experience:

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Two-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience working with youth grades K-5 preferred.

Knowledge, Ability and Skill:

• Working knowledge of educational, recreational and enrichment programs.
• Experience developing and implementing curriculum and lesson plans.
• Ability to travel between work sites and other required locations with reliable transportation.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior and personalities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to travel off-site and out of town for training and meetings.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks over extended periods and retain information from prior training, reading, or experience.
• Ability to use knowledge and reasoning to solve problems.
• Ability to work effectively with children and teenagers in a Boys & Girls Club setting with frequent distractions.
• Skill in motivating, training and supervising others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to use stairs on a regular basis.
• Ability to reach, bend, push, pull, and lift objects up to thirty (30) pounds.
• Ability to perform tasks such as writing, keyboarding, and using a calculator.
