Senior Manager, Software Engineering (Consumer Banking)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• 10+ years of overall experience, including 5+ years of hands-on experience in microservices development, UI development, and people management.
• Practical experience with enterprise Java technologies, Spring and Spring Boot, and event-driven microservices in AWS or another cloud environment.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure; microservices and REST APIs; relational and NoSQL databases; and data modeling.
• Hands-on knowledge of data streaming and messaging frameworks such as Kafka or Spark, as well as containers and orchestration tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• A record of mentoring engineers in technical development and responsible, effective use of AI-assisted development and agentic tools, while promoting quality, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
• Team leadership experience applying AI-assisted development and agentic AI or automation tools to accelerate delivery and streamline planning, documentation, research, and communications.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder-management capabilities, including executive-level communication to align roadmaps, gain cross-functional support, and explain technology and risk in terms of business impact.
• Preferred: Cloud certification and practical cloud-native experience.
• Preferred: Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture; proficiency in multiple modern programming languages; and awareness of industry technology trends.
• Preferred: In-depth knowledge of financial services and its IT systems.
• Preferred: Experience designing and implementing CI/CD automation frameworks, including performance testing across development, QA, and operations.
• Preferred: Ownership of highly available, high-throughput systems with defined SLOs and SLIs, and attention to cost stewardship.
• Preferred: Experience leading modernization initiatives, such as monolith-to-microservices transformations or cloud migrations, in regulated environments.

• Own the technical integrity and quality of team deliveries, partnering with architects on design and helping the team break down and estimate complex work.
• Track and continually improve development quality through unit testing, peer reviews, and automated remediation of recurring issues.
• Mentor team members in their technical and professional growth, fostering a culture of inclusion, opportunity, diversity, and respect.
• Work with product and business leaders to align roadmaps and secure cross-functional support using clear data and trade-offs; communicate complex technology and risk topics in terms of business impact for executive audiences.
• Lead delivery and organizational change across teams amid ambiguity, resolve conflicts, and raise engineering standards for design, reliability, and security.
• Build and integrate agentic AI capabilities—including autonomous agents, workflow automation, and AI-driven decision-making—into Consumer & Community Banking products and platforms.
• Promote an AI-first approach, using AI and automation tools for software delivery and everyday work such as documentation, status reporting, meeting preparation, research, and communications to improve individual and team productivity.
