About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Compact or Louisiana license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Competence to perform conscious sedation - Ability to monitor and record all procedures in the interventional radiology department Description: Please ensure traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, you may be assigned to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or to be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed during each emergency event. By signing your travel contract, you accept this condition and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager. Do not apply if you are not comfortable with this requirement. Standard procedure hours are typically from 08:00 to 16:30. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the unit and ensure patients receive optimal care. Call is divided equally among team members, typically two nights per week and every other weekend, to ensure all hours are covered. On-call includes an expectation of arriving to the department within 30 minutes of notification. You may be asked to assist in both interventional radiology and the cardiac cath lab as needed. Skill requirements include: - End-Tidal CO2 monitoring - Activated Clotting Time (ACT) - Administration of various medications - Monitoring procedural sedation - Ensuring infection prevention protocols are followed - Sheath removal and monitoring Unit-specific details include: The unit serves full service combined cardiac cath, electrophysiology lab, and interventional radiology procedures. All travelers must be competent to perform procedures from all areas within the specialty. Special equipment associated with the cath lab and interventional radiology must be utilized competently. Reference checking and NURSYS reports will be required for clearance. Travelers must have two years of experience in the specialty for all locations, and prior traveling experience is essential. Make sure to bring up time-off requests during the interview process.
