The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations within the Denver facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality processing of seafood products. This position will lead production employees, including cutters and packers, while driving improvements in yield, quality, productivity, and operational consistency.

The Production Supervisor will work closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, Food Safety, Inventory, and Logistics teams to ensure customer requirements are met while maintaining food safety standards and minimizing waste.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 DOE
Schedule: Sunday - Friday

Essential Responsibilities
Production Operations & Team Leadership

• Supervise daily production activities including seafood cutting, portioning, trimming, packaging, and staging.
• Lead and manage production employees, including cutters, packers, and support personnel.
• Assign daily production tasks based on priorities, customer needs, inventory levels, and staffing.
• Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, and identify training opportunities.
• Ensure production schedules are completed accurately and on time.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Cutter Oversight & Yield Management

• Oversee cutters to ensure proper cutting techniques, product specifications, and customer requirements are followed.
• Monitor cutter performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Track product yields by item, species, and production batch.
• Review yield results and identify opportunities to improve recovery and reduce product loss.
• Ensure product is being processed according to established trim standards and specifications.
• Investigate yield variances and work with management to implement corrective actions.

Inventory Control & Product Management

• Monitor production inventory levels and communicate shortages or excess inventory.
• Ensure proper lot tracking, labeling, and traceability procedures are followed.
• Support inventory rotation (FIFO) and reduce product aging and discard.
• Review production needs based on customer demand and available inventory.

Quality Assurance & Food Safety

• Ensure all production activities follow company food safety policies, HACCP guidelines, and sanitation requirements.
• Monitor product quality, including appearance, freshness, trim, weight accuracy, and specifications.
• Identify and address quality concerns before product reaches customers.
• Partner with Food Safety/Quality teams on inspections, corrective actions, and process improvements.
• Maintain proper handling, temperature control, and storage practices.

Process Improvement

• Identify operational challenges and recommend improvements.
• Help develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Improve workflow, labor efficiency, and production accuracy.
• Support implementation of new processes, equipment, or systems.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate production records, including:
  o Production quantities
  o Yield reports
  o Waste/discard tracking
  o Employee productivity
  o Quality checks
• Review production data and provide updates to management.
• Assist with investigations related to customer complaints or operational issues.

Qualifications
Required:

• Previous seafood processing, food production, or manufacturing supervisory experience.

• Experience leading production teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of seafood handling, cutting, portioning, and quality standards.
• Strong understanding of food safety practices.
• Ability to analyze production and yield data.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with seafood yields, trimming standards, and portion control.
• Experience with inventory systems and production reporting.
• HACCP or food safety certification.
• Experience training and developing production employees.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a refrigerated production environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move product and supplies as needed.
• Ability to work flexible schedules based on production requirements
