Experienced Clinical Nurse - Critical Care - Evening/Nights

Experienced Clinical Nurse - Critical Care Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at MD Anderson provides patient‑focused care through a multidisciplinary team approach. Quality and patient outcomes are at the heart of our practice. The ICU team participates in Evidence‑Based Practice, unit‑ and hospital‑based committees, and local and national conferences. Our ICU has 55 beds and 230 employees; the ICU team participates in Evidence‑Based Practice, unit‑ and hospital‑based committees, and local and national conferences. Ideal candidate must have graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing, have a current Texas RN license, and a minimum of one year of recent RN experience in an ICU setting. ACLS and BLS are required. Shift: 7 pm – 7 am and 26 out of 52 weekends per year. Hourly salary range: Minimum $31.73 – Midpoint $43.27 – Maximum $54.81. Compensation package includes fully covered medical premiums, Teacher's Retirement Services (TRS) contribution, generous Paid‑Time‑Off, and certification pay. Plus, nurses earn up to $8,320 in annual unit‑based differentials for all inpatient units. Evening/Night nurses are eligible for shift differential pay. Clinical nurses relocating from more than 100 miles receive up to $10,000 in relocation assistance. Nurses work to accelerate nursing science and are supported through nurse‑driven research, educational initiatives, mentoring, and professional development. Key Nursing Functions Accountable for the management and provision of patient care in assigned area. Assess patient needs for nursing care and multidisciplinary team. Collaborate with physicians, other services, patients, and families to plan care and evaluate outcomes. Improve practice by integrating results and theories of research studies. Participate in data collection for current studies. Demonstrate clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures, and managing emergencies. Document care according to established standards. Access, input, and retrieve information from computer systems. Assure continuity of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education, and coordination of services. Act as a patient and family advocate to uphold patient rights. Train, coach, and assist team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Experience: Required: Minimum of one year of recent RN experience in an ICU setting. Preferred: At least two years of critical care experience. Licensure/Certification: Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Required: Must have 12 months of recent acute care RN experience.
