Role: Project Manager - Infrastructure

Compensation: Up to $75.00/hr., commensurate with experience

Location : Onsite NYC

Length of Contract: 24 months

Position Description:

\n

This dual-scope role combines project management with network and infrastructure oversight for Information Technology Services (ITS) infrastructure and communications initiatives. The position requires prior hands-on networking experience to lead capital project coordination and oversee vendor and contractor installation and configuration of network infrastructure. Working collaboratively with internal personnel, architects, engineers, construction project managers, vendors, and contractors, this role ensures ITS requirements, technical standards, and project objectives are met throughout the planning, design, bidding, construction, and implementation lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the client’s IT department and project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, construction project managers, vendors, and contractors, throughout planning, design, bidding, construction, and implementation.
\n
• Develop, review, and contribute to Statements of Work (SOWs), technical specifications, and project documentation for competitive bidding and procurement.
\n
• Maintain and update project databases, tracking systems, and IT infrastructure records, including communications, wireless, structured cabling, and IP camera systems.
\n
• Review contractor and vendor bids and provide recommendations on qualified vendors and contractors, including coordination with the project’s engineering firm of record.
\n
• Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets; assist with invoice, billing, and change order reviews; and identify and help resolve risks and technical issues.
\n
• Review project designs, drawings, and specifications to identify conflicts, gaps, or deficiencies that may affect IT infrastructure or operations.
\n
• Oversee installation and configuration of Cisco switches and Cisco Wireless Controller-based wireless equipment, coordinating with vendors, contractors, and technical teams to support successful implementation.
\n
• Support the transition of completed infrastructure into operations by ensuring documentation and standards are maintained and identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure design, deployment, and reliability.

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Proven experience combining project management with network and infrastructure oversight, including prior hands-on networking experience.
\n
• Prior hands-on experience with Cisco switching and wireless infrastructure, with the ability to oversee implementation activities.
\n
• Prior experience with Cisco Wireless Controllers.
\n
• CCNA certification preferred.
\n
• Experience managing IT or technology capital projects, including SOW development, bid evaluation, and vendor or contractor coordination.
\n
• Experience maintaining project documentation, database and tracking systems, and infrastructure records.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
