Job Overview Registered Nurse at North Shore Medical Center, Inc. (Mass General Brigham). Responsible for all aspects of the nursing process and delivery of patient and family centered care, utilizing multidisciplinary resources. Responsibilities Provide patient care across specialties: ED, OR, PACU, Cardiac Rehab, First Assist OR, ICU, Med Surg, Pediatrics, Labor & Delivery, Pre‑Op Evaluation, Radiology. Use governing and administrative resources, technology, and multidisciplinary clinical experts to deliver quality, cost‑effective care. Maintain current BLS certification; acquire additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, etc.) as required per specialty. Participate in patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation per the medical plan. Delegate nursing tasks to unlicensed personnel when appropriate. Collaborate with patient, family, physicians, and health care team to coordinate services and ensure efficient use of resources. Educate patients and families and develop individualized teaching plans. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, safety standards, and federal/state regulations. Support and demonstrate the mission, values, and standards of North Shore Medical Center. Supervise, mentor, and participate in hiring, orientation, and performance improvement of staff as needed. Identify and resolve barriers to care, implement quality improvement and compliance initiatives. Specialty Requirements ED : Minimum 3 years ED nursing; BLS required, ACLS/PALS preferred. OR (including First Assist) : Minimum 3 years OR nursing; ability to circulate and scrub; BLS required. PACU : Minimum 3 years critical care/specialty experience; ACLS/PALS required. ICU : Minimum 3 years nursing experience; ACLS required. Cardiac Rehab : Minimum 2 years medical/surgical and 2 years cardiac intensive care; BLS, ACLS required; ANCC Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification preferred. Med Surg : Minimum 2 years experience; BLS/ACLS required. Pediatrics/Labor & Delivery : BLS, PALS, ENPC (preferred) or NRP; minimum 2 years in Pediatric or Labor & Delivery; EFM preferred in L&D. Pre‑Op Evaluation : Minimum 2 years critical care experience. Radiology : Minimum 3 years Med/Surg nursing; one year critical care preferred; BLS/ACLS required. Qualifications Registered Nurse license (RN – State License). Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; degree cannot replace required experience. Current BLS certification; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS) may be required depending on unit. Computer proficiency and ability to learn hospital software applications. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay range: $39.27 – $94.69. Position type: Regular; shift: rotating; scheduled weekly hours: 36. Work location: 81 Highland Avenue, onsite.
