Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team in Manhattan, Kansas. In this full-time remote role, you will be instrumental in aiding individuals on their path to mental well-being, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. By employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques, you will help clients overcome challenges related to body image, food relationships, and self-esteem.

Our outpatient psychiatrist MD practice is focused on specialized care for eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Work Environment\nThis position allows for a full-time remote work setting, ensuring you can create a comfortable workspace while effectively engaging with clients during regular business hours. Our typical schedule runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, providing a structured environment to focus on both your clientele and your professional development. Identifying and addressing the individual needs of each client is paramount in our practice, supported by a team of professionals dedicated to mental health recovery.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' eating disorder symptoms along with any co-occurring mental health issues to determine their treatment needs. \n
- Design personalized treatment plans rooted in assessment findings, collaborating closely with clients to establish realistic goals for their recovery journey. \n
- Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to foster significant improvements in clients' mental health. \n
- Facilitate therapeutic sessions aimed at reshaping clients' distorted beliefs regarding body image, food, and self-worth, enabling lasting change. \n
- Guide clients in the development of effective coping strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and methods to resist disordered eating behaviors. \n
- Coordinate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure that all aspects of each client's care are addressed holistically and cohesively. \n
- Provide psychoeducation to clients and family members to foster a deeper understanding of eating disorders and support systems, illustrating the importance of recovery. \n
- Maintain meticulous documentation of each client's progress, treatment protocols, and therapy sessions in line with legal and ethical standards. \n
- Engage in regular team meetings and case conferences to enhance clinical skills and stay current on best practices in eating disorder treatments. \n
Your work will primarily focus on clients struggling with eating disorders, ensuring that your expertise directly impacts their recovery. Qualifications\n- \n
- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) within the state of Kansas. \n
- Demonstrated ability in utilizing evidence-based therapies specifically for eating disorders such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. \n
- A robust understanding of the complexities surrounding eating disorders and associated co-occurring mental health challenges. \n
- Exceptional communication skills, allowing you to forge trusting relationships with clients and foster a supportive therapeutic environment. \n
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in mental health counseling, particularly with a focus on treating eating disorders, is highly desirable. Proficiency in the application of therapeutic approaches tailored for this population will be advantageous.
