Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year telemetry experience required. Neuro experience is not required but candidates should be willing to learn in a heavy neuro unit. License: Valid compact state license required. Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS Must-Have: Nursing experience in neurology and telemetry. Comfortable with the NIH scale. Proficient at caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various other neurology diagnoses. Description: This is a telemetry nursing position focused on caring for patients with neurological conditions. The unit is a heavy neuro unit, so candidates must be willing to learn and adapt to the specific needs of the patients. Candidates will be expected to work every other weekend. The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. This position requires strong skills in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience managing BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and caring for patients with traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries is essential. Nurses will need to be proficient in pre/post-operative care for neurosurgery patients. Candidates must be comfortable floating between units as needed. The unit provides care for a diverse range of diagnoses, with a focus on neuroscience and neurosurgical conditions. Applicants should be familiar with the charting system used in this facility. Flexibility is critical, as scheduling requests must be made during the application process.
