Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, and case cart preparation according to approved procedures.
• Receive, inspect, and organize instrument sets; ensure accurate labeling and traceability throughout the sterilization process.
• Operate decontamination and sterilization equipment, monitor cycles, and document results to maintain compliance with infection control standards.
• Prepare instrument trays and case carts for surgical or procedural use; communicate with operating teams to ensure timely availability.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas; follow safety protocols and PPE requirements; perform quality checks and report deviations.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal orientation, with flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Certification: CBSPB or HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) required
• Experience: Prior sterile processing experience in a trauma center environment
• Setting capability: Ability to work effectively in an acute care/trauma-focused sterile processing setting
• Availability: Willingness to work overtime when needed and occasional weekends
• Additional: Strong decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and case cart skills; ability to work with minimal supervision
