Audit Senior Manager – Life Sciences PracticeThe role is based in Boston or Burlington, MA with a hybrid schedule. You will lead and manage audit engagements for life science clients, oversee staff, and collaborate with senior partners to deliver world‑class service. Responsibilities Lead engagement team staff on planning and execution of audit engagements. Oversee day‑to‑day operations including staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion. Provide supervision, training, and support to engagement staff, fostering open communication with managers and partners. Manage multiple engagements concurrently, coordinating various teams to meet client deadlines efficiently. Create and track engagement budgets, identifying inefficiencies and maintaining profitable realization rates. Review and evaluate work papers for compliance with professional standards and firm policy. Review reports and financial statements for accuracy and consistency. Discuss significant findings with engagement partners, especially those involving auditing standards and firm policy. Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are executed. Effectively manage employee and client expectations. Develop and maintain positive relationships with client management. Deliver on‑the‑job training to team members. Participate actively in the firm’s learning and development activities. Complete performance evaluations timely and provide ongoing performance feedback to employees. Qualifications BBA/BS/MS in Accounting. Advanced knowledge of GAAP and PCAOB/SEC rules and regulations. Familiarity with life science transactions, including complex debt and equity transactions such as warrants and stock‑based compensation. 10+ years of relevant audit experience. Must be a licensed CPA. Strong analytical, technical, and auditing skills, specifically within SEC Assurance. Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation—capable of articulating professional and technical knowledge. Deep understanding of complex technical issues. Ability to meet deadlines accurately. Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a proven ability to develop outstanding client relationships. Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a fast‑paced, results‑based environment. Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills. Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail. Compensation & Benefits The compensation range for this position is $150,000–$225,000, plus a competitive benefits package and bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
