Military Writing Specialist for AI Training [Remote]

Apply your Department of Defense writing and reporting expertise to create, review, and evaluate authentic military and federal documents that train next generation AI systems. This contractor role focuses on producing standards-aligned examples and assessments of military reporting to help build benchmarks and grading guidelines for model training. No prior AI experience is required; subject matter knowledge is the priority.

• Create realistic military and federal status reports, summaries, and executive updates from prompts and supplied artifacts.
• Develop "golden responses" that exemplify high-quality, standards-compliant reporting for use in model training.
• Draft grading rubrics and assessment guidelines that reflect federal and military writing best practices.
• Evaluate AI-generated reports and provide detailed written and verbal feedback.
• Explain stylistic differences and individual approaches to common military documents, including Weekly Activity Reports (WARs), Situation Reports (SITREPs), After-Action Reviews (AARs), and executive summaries.
• Produce supporting materials such as decision briefs, memoranda, action officer updates, PowerPoints, memos, and spreadsheets when requested.
• Collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure diversity of reporting styles and correct branch-specific terminology.

• Required skills: military writing, federal documentation standards, report generation and evaluation, development of grading rubrics, and strong written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with Department of Defense procedures, compliance best practices, and producing templated standard reports such as WARs, SITREPs, and AARs.
• Proven ability to craft, grade, and review back office documents, PowerPoints, memos, and spreadsheets for military or federal purposes.
• Preferred: former Department of Defense professional with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: experience spanning two or more U.S. military branches or a diverse background across roles is a plus.
• Comfortable collaborating remotely and explaining nuanced, highly procedural reporting tasks.
