Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist for AI Model Training [Remote]

Develop and refine advanced parametric CAD models in Autodesk Fusion 360 and related tools, producing high-quality 3D parts and assemblies and detailed documentation that will be used to train next-generation AI systems. This role emphasizes robust sketching, constraint-driven feature trees, manufacturability, and clear design rationale.

• Develop fully parametric 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies from detailed written briefs, emphasizing robust sketches, constraints, and feature trees.
• Edit and update existing parametric CAD models to reflect evolving requirements, ensuring manufacturability and specification compliance.
• Audit and review CAD models for dimensional accuracy, correct tolerance application, and alignment with design intent, documenting any gaps or deviations.
• Deliver consistent, high-quality CAD data and clear documentation of design decisions to support AI model training.
• Apply manufacturing knowledge to optimize designs for production processes such as injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, and casting or forging.
• Perform reverse engineering tasks when required, including scan-to-CAD and point cloud conversion workflows.
• Communicate design rationale, feedback, and technical insights clearly in writing and verbally to support collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Required core skills: Autodesk Fusion 360, parametric CAD modeling, mechanical assembly modeling.
• Familiarity or proficiency with SolidWorks, Inventor, or FreeCAD is valuable.
• Applied knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 or equivalent, with proven use in real projects.
• Design for Manufacturability experience across at least two to three processes relevant to the role, such as injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, casting, or forging.
• Experience auditing CAD models for dimensional accuracy, tolerance application, and design intent.
• Reverse engineering experience, including scan-to-CAD and point cloud conversion, is highly valued.
• Experience with CAD automation or scripting is a strong plus, examples include Python, iLogic, NX Open, or VBA.
• Strong technical documentation skills, attention to detail, problem solving, and clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience levels: at least 4 years of applied experience for model editing tasks, and 10 or more years for complex model creation and assembly-level work.

• Engagement type: Contractor, independent contributor role.

• Work will directly contribute to training and improving AI systems; no prior AI experience is required.

Hourly rate range: $40.00 to $100.00 per hour, paid to the contractor.
