Our growing commercial real estate company is currently looking for a Property Accountant to join our accounting department. The Property Accountant position will execute daily financial reporting activities for each property assigned to their portfolio, including payment processing, calculating and submitting sales tax returns, monthly loan payments, report packaging, account reconciliations, and commission processing. We are a very busy company that moves at a fast pace, has daily end-of-day deadlines, and has a very high transactional volume. We all do what it takes to get the job done every day and we make time to have fun together, too!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up new properties in accounting software
• Prepare and review journal entries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts
• Reconcile bank activity on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly sales tax returns
• Mortgage loan payment preparation and data entry
• Prepare monthly financial statements
• Be involved in annual budgeting process and input budgets into accounting software
• Prepare and analyze annual operating expense true up for tenants by working closely with the property team to ensure all tenants are accounted for and calculated correctly
• Administer tenant files and security deposits in accounting software
• Maintain rent rolls and vacancy loss reports
• Other duties as assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Commercial property management industry experience a plus
• Prioritize and multitask in a high volume environment
• Work at a steady, fast pace.
• Strong organizational skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Experience with a Yardi, MS Office
