Strategic Deployments Lead

Seed-stage frontier AI infrastructure company with offices in San Francisco and New York building the next generation of software, data, and evaluation systems for frontier AI. The first wave of frontier AI was driven by scaling compute and model architecture. As foundation models become increasingly capable, one of the next major bottlenecks is helping them reason more effectively, master complex real-world work, and continuously improve across specialized domains. This company is building for that shift. Working directly with leading frontier AI organizations, the team develops novel evaluation frameworks, applied AI systems, and real-world data that help advance the capabilities of frontier models. The founding team brings deep experience from Scale AI, Meta AI, and multiple successful startups, and is assembling an exceptionally technical, in-person team spanning research, engineering, and operations. Summary This is a hybrid role at the intersection of scientific domain expertise, AI, and operational rigor. The core job is owning the full pipeline that turns real scientific workflows into training data for frontier AI models: identifying where AI still falls short in domains like biology, medicine, or chemistry, recruiting elite researchers and domain experts to generate high-quality examples of those tasks, and running the operational machine that delivers that dataset to frontier labs. The ideal profile is a scientist or technically trained operator who has published research, understands what rigorous scientific reasoning looks like, and has the operational instincts to build and improve complex workflows under pressure. What You’ll Own Own data labeling programs end to end, turning expert-level scientific workflows into training signals for AI models Partner with leading researchers and domain experts to set the quality bar for scientific reasoning Design and oversee end-to-end data pipelines, from customer specifications through to final delivery Identify bottlenecks, restructure workflows, and implement solutions that lift quality, throughput, and cost-efficiency Build an elite network of scientific contributors and lead them in creating a frontier dataset in science You’ll work directly with the founders and early team across research, engineering, product, and operations. What We’re Looking For You likely have experience with several of the following: A science-related degree from a top university Experience producing and publishing research papers 2+ years of experience in an operationally rigorous role, such as consulting, private equity, or domain-specific fields. High level of comfort using AI tools Comfort working in ambiguity, moving fast, and making good tradeoffs Excited to lead work at the intersection of operations, engineering and product Experience at frontier AI labs or leading AI research organizations is highly relevant, but we’re primarily looking for exceptional researchers who enjoy solving difficult technical problems and rapidly turning research into real-world impact. Prior startup experience is a strong plus.
