P.M. Production Helper/Utility

The role is titled PM Production Helper / Utility Helper (GT). Business Unit: Production. Reports To: Sri Selvaraj. Summary: Production helpers ensure the quality of products through dough creation, processing, and packaging areas. Employees rotate throughout their shift for ergonomic reasons. They work scheduled hours per department and may be end-of-line (EOP) at times. Breaks and lunches will be allotted and adjusted based on hours of operation. Employees must follow all PPE requirements such as uniform, safety glasses, hearing protection, non-slip footwear, gloves, hairnet, and mouth/nosing covering. They must maintain a safe and clean work area. The position also requires flexibility to cover utility/mixer positions in toast/loaf, puff pastry, layer cake, and voting. In these positions, hours may vary and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Lift truck certification may be necessary. Hours: Various PM start times – start times will vary depending on assigned position. Hours may vary with production needs and changeovers. Primary Responsibilities: Employees will work in puff pastry, toast/loaf, and layer cake areas. Employees will be trained in all three areas to work on the production lines. They will follow a scheduled rotation through each area, which could be impacted by vacations, unplanned absences, etc. Qualifications and Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Manufacturing experience is preferred. No supervisory or budgeting responsibilities. Employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and may need lift truck certification. Work Environment: Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Compensation and Benefits: Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
