Primary Care Physician

Job Description

A private practice in Long Island (Nassau County) is currently seeking a licensed Physician, with a Family or Internal Medicine background, for a promising opportunity at one of their facilities.

Responsibilities:

The Primary Care Physician will:

• Assess each patient upon their appointment
• Elicit and record information about patients' medical history
• Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition
• Analyze reports and findings of tests and examination, and diagnoses condition of patient
• Administer or prescribes treatments and medications
• Promote health by advising patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of diseases
• Determine need for modified diet and physical activities, and recommends plan
• Inoculate and vaccinate patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases
• Perform surgical procedures commensurate with surgical competency
• Refer patient to other medical specialists for consultant services when necessary for patients' well-being
• Oversee, review, supervise, and act in preceptor role to family practice residents
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of New York
• Board Certified in Family or Internal Medicine
