Sous Chef

blackie's is looking for a talented Sous Chef who wants to be part of a kitchen that values quality, consistency, creativity, and teamwork. We're searching for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, from-scratch environment and takes pride in building great food and even better teams.

This is more than an "assistant chef" position. You'll be a daily leader on the line, a coach for the team, and a key partner in executing our culinary vision.

What You'll Do

• Lead and inspire the kitchen team during service.
• Ensure every plate meets our standards for quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Coach, develop, and hold cooks accountable through positive leadership.
• Assist with scheduling, ordering, inventory, food costing, and labor management.
• Maintain exceptional food safety and sanitation standards.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef on menu execution, features, and operational improvements.
• Jump into any station when needed and lead by example.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has previous leadership experience as a Sous Chef or strong Kitchen Manager.
• Is calm, organized, and decisive under pressure.
• Has a genuine passion for cooking and hospitality.
• Understands systems, prep, organization, and execution.
• Communicates clearly and professionally.
• Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do.
