Head Athletic Trainer

Head Athletic Trainer Job Location: Spalding University Center - Louisville, KY 40203 Education Level: Master's Job Category: Education - Full Time DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Injury prevention, emergency care, first aid and physical rehabilitation of injuries incurred by Spalding University's intercollegiate athletes. Organize and conduct medically prescribed sports rehabilitation and conditioning programs following an injury and be responsible for appropriate organization and implementation of athletic insurance claim paperwork and follow-up as necessary. Supervise and participate in the teaching of graduate athletic training students enrolled in an innovative, new entry-level Master of Science Degree Program in Athletic Training. QUALIFICATIONS Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky. A master's degree and previous collegiate athletic training experience is required. Excellent written and verbal communication, multitasking, and budget management skills, in addition to knowledge of the NCAA. INTERRELATIONS Ability to effectively communicate with and solve problems for diverse groups, including prospective or current students, fellow counselors and support staff, alumni, and other constituencies. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in an environment characterized by large workloads, deadline pressures and high-performance standards.
