Job Description And Duties Under the supervision of the Personnel Supervisor I, the Personnel Specialist is responsible for processing a full range of personnel and payroll duties. The Personnel Specialist interprets and applies departmental policies; bargaining unit contracts; and personnel-related laws and regulations of the State Personnel Board (SPB), California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), and State Controller's Office (SCO) related to personnel appointments, payroll, benefits, and attendance records. Working Conditions 1416 9TH Street, Floor 13 Sacramento, CA 95814 We offer a hybrid work schedule that is consistent with the department’s telework policy. Employees in this position work in an office setting in a high-rise building in downtown Sacramento and are required to work extensively on computers as necessary for drafting of letters, other documents, research, email communication, file review, training, and other purposes.
