Human Resources Generalist (PEO, Payroll & Benefits, Compliance)

We’re hiring a Human Resources Generalist who is detail-oriented, approachable, and energized by building strong employee experiences—while keeping HR operations running smoothly. This role works closely with our Professional Employer Organization (PEO) across payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee support.

Key Responsibilities Include:
HR Administration
- Assist with onboarding and orientation for new employees
- Maintain and update employee records in both the company HR system and the PEO’s system
- Process HR-related paperwork including hiring and employee status changes
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Coordinate with the PEO to process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Serve as a liaison for employee payroll and benefits inquiries
- Help administer benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and additional perks
Compliance & Reporting
- Coordinate with the PEO to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Assist with required HR reports and documentation
- Monitor and update company policies to stay aligned with legal requirements and PEO guidelines
Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee HR questions and concerns
- Assist leadership with resolving employee issues and conflicts in collaboration with the PEO
- Help foster a positive and productive work environment
Recruitment & Staffing
- Support leadership recruitment efforts by scheduling and conducting interviews, preparing offer letters, and assisting with background checks
- Collaborate with the leadership on staffing needs
Training & Development
- Assist with coordinating training and professional development opportunities
- Track employee training and certifications
HR Projects & Initiatives
- Participate in HR projects to improve HR processes and employee experience
- Collaborate with the leadership team and PEO on special projects as needed
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in an HR role required
- Experience working with a PEO is preferred
Certifications (Preferred)
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of HR practices and benefits administration
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software
- Valid driver’s license
Work Details
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, typically 8:00am–5:00pm (occasional extended hours may be needed to meet deadlines)
- Location: Charlotte office (on-site)
- Physical requirement: capable of lifting materials up to 25 lbs

- Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
