Description

• Implement personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on language development, fluency, vocalization, and swallowing issues.
• Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Educate patients and families, equipping them with the necessary tools to foster progress outside of therapy sessions.
• Provide support for inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity in patient care.
• Keep thorough and timely records that comply with state, federal, and organizational policies.
• Commit to continual learning by staying updated with the latest developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaborative practices.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Currently licensed to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist in New York.
• ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
