Job Overview Company: Cox Automotive – Manheim Mobile Inspector II. The role is a Mobile Inspector working as part of the Manheim mobile inspections team for a designated region. Responsibilities include conducting vehicle condition inspections on client lots, providing accurate documentation, and maintaining client relationships to expand Inspections volume. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer/clients’ lots safely. Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system to correct VIN, mileage, and sub‑series. Document vehicle equipment and options, including damage, missing or inoperable items. Record exterior and interior condition details such as tires, frame, glass, panels, dashboard, and options. Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components. Prepare and provide daily activity reports for management. Adapt to changes in daily appointments to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of each dealer visit. Develop strong knowledge of clients in territory and actively engage to keep them active with Manheim mobile inspections. Leverage data and insights from partners to maximize units inspected on dealer lots. Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador and provide a premier client experience. Collaborate with the Wholesale Specialist team, peers, and other Manheim workgroups and auctions. Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews. Work in a continuous improvement/Lean environment and support a lean culture. Maintain production expectations set by the leader and demonstrate safety commitment through all procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent). Alternative combinations include other degrees or certifications + 5 years of related experience. 3+ years of experience in a related field (1‑2 years of automotive experience preferred). Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong technical aptitude and detail oriented. Experience in navigating handheld devices and documentation tools preferred. Motivated to work independently with remote supervision. Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instructions. Familiarity with automotive body and mechanical repair, unibody and full‑frame knowledge helpful. Physical ability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level, stand, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods; crouch, bend, and kneel frequently; lift hood or trunk as needed. Near‑vision ability to spot dents and scratches, paint work, hail damage, frame/unibody damage, and interior damage. 8:10 Travel requirement: 100% travel, reliable transportation required.
