A manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead all operational functions within an electronics manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence across production, materials management, inventory control, shipping, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in PCB and PCBA manufacturing, SMT processes, supply chain coordination, and lean manufacturing practices.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across Production, Materials Management, Inventory Control, Shipping, and manufacturing support departments.
• Drive operational efficiency, productivity, throughput, and quality improvements.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with customer satisfaction and business growth objectives.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators including on time delivery, production output, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, scrap, rework, and downtime.
• Manage production scheduling, workforce planning, workflow optimization, and resource allocation.
• Ensure material availability and effective supply chain coordination.
• Oversee stockroom, production, and shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Lead continuous improvement programs using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
• Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to maintain compliance with industry standards and internal quality systems.
• Promote workplace safety and operational compliance.
• Mentor, coach, and develop managers and operational staff.
• Support capital equipment planning, facility improvements, and operational scalability initiatives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, finance, engineering, and quality departments to improve manufacturing performance.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• 7 to 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
• Proven experience managing multiple departments within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong PCB and PCBA manufacturing operations experience.
• Deep understanding of SMT manufacturing processes and electronic assembly operations.
• Experience with AOI, SPI, automated inspection systems, and EMS environments.
• Knowledge of ESD controlled manufacturing environments and IPC standards.
• Strong understanding of ERP and MRP systems.
• Experience with inventory control, materials management, procurement, and supply chain coordination.
• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen experience preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
