ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER – KIDSTRONG
Raleigh | Cary | Fuquay-Varina
Full-time, hourly | $19.23 per hour (approximately $40,000 annually at 40 hours per week)

KidStrong is looking for an energetic Assistant General Manager who loves coaching kids, developing people, connecting with families, and making things happen. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk job. You will lead classes, motivate your team, welcome families, grow memberships, and help your center thrive.

ABOUT KIDSTRONG

KidStrong helps children from 6 months through 11 years old become stronger and more confident. Our science-based curriculum develops the brain, body, and character through fun, high-energy classes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead from the floor

• Coach a minimum of 12 hours per week using the KidStrong curriculum.
• Create safe, positive, high-energy experiences for kids and families.
• Understand our programming and explain it clearly to parents and team members.
• Keep classes fun, engaging, on pace, and running on time.
• Lead weekly programming meetings and train Coaches on upcoming curriculum.
• Complete required KidStrong certifications and ongoing training.

Build an outstanding team

• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, schedule, and develop Coaches.
• Provide frequent feedback and complete 30-, 60-, and 90-day evaluations.
• Maintain appropriate staffing and build a pipeline of future talent.
• Create a culture of high standards, teamwork, growth, accountability, and fun.

Deliver an exceptional family experience and grow the center

• Build genuine relationships with families and provide outstanding service.
• Guide prospective families through observations, trials, and enrollment.
• Follow up confidently with inbound leads, including 50–100 outbound calls per day.
• Support birthday parties, two Parents’ Night Out events each month, camps, and special programs.
• Help drive membership goals, class ratings, and overall center performance.
• Build local partnerships and lead community-engagement efforts.
• Help oversee payroll, scheduling, time and attendance, maintenance, cleanliness, and brand standards.

WHAT YOU BRING

• A genuine passion for working with children—this is non-negotiable.
• An athletic, fitness, teaching, or coaching background and experience with children ages 15 months through 11 years.
• Natural leadership, strong communication skills, and comfort speaking with parents.
• The ability to motivate others, receive feedback, solve problems, and adapt quickly.
• A self-starter mindset: you see what needs to be done and take action.
• Comfort with workplace technology; membership or CRM experience is helpful but not required.
• Management experience is preferred but not required. Pediatric OT/PT experience is a plus.
• CPR certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.

SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The typical schedule includes four weekdays, generally 10:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m., and one rotating weekend day, generally 8:45 a.m.–5:45 p.m. Exact hours may vary with center needs.

You will have a home center in Raleigh, Cary, or Fuquay-Varina and must be able to support any of our three locations as operational needs arise. Expected travel is approximately 5–10%.

This is an active coaching environment. You must be able to move throughout multiple classes, lift and repeatedly move equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, demonstrate exercises, and physically assist children to ensure safe technique.
