** Position Summary **

We are seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to support the accounting and operational needs of a growing organization. This position serves as a critical link between Accounting and Operations, combining traditional accounting responsibilities with accounts payable administration, purchasing support, vendor management, financial analysis, and month-end close activities.

Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting & Finance, the Staff Accountant will play an integral role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the organization's financial records while supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the business. This role requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with team members across various departments.

In addition to processing accounts payable transactions and supporting purchasing activities, the Staff Accountant will assist with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliations, cash management, and process improvement initiatives. ** Essential Responsibilities ** :

• Assists the Director of Accounting and Finance in the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
• Process and enter vendor invoices, obtain approvals, and prepare weekly check batches.
• Prepare subcontractor job activity reports.
• Post journal entries for cash transactions, expense reimbursements, and vendor accounts.
• Review and process expense reimbursements to employees.
• Assist Operations with purchasing materials, equipment rentals, and ensuring contractual specifications are met.
• Prepare wires, ACHs and other electronic payments both within and outside the organization.
• Analyzes system design alternatives and identifies potential improvements to existing systems and processes.
• Maintains or assists with maintenance of accounting information systems.
• Assists with Monthly Financial Closing, analyses, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Other related accounting duties as assigned.

** Required Skills/Abilities: **

• 4-year accredited accounting degree.
• 3-5 years of work-related experience.
• Excellent Excel skills required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Professional interaction with team members across all departments.
• Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
• Comprehensive understanding of accounting functions.
• Excellent proficiency (Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook)
• Adapt to different accounting software systems. Prior experience with QuickBooks a plus.
• A willingness and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Works independently and effectively manage workload in a dynamic environment.
• Commitment to deliver results on time.
• Able to handle high stress environments.
• Focused and able to learn new tasks quickly.

** Job Details **

• $70,000-80,000 salary based on experience.
• Full-time, in-office permanent employment
• Schedule is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Peak times may require a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.
