Restaurant Equipment Service Technician

Description We are seeking a Restaurant Equipment Service Technician (also known as a Chemical Service Technician) to join our Boise branch at Bargreen Ellingson. The Service Technician is responsible for providing quality service to our customers who have various types of commercial appliances that require service. This can include serving customers at restaurants with dish machines, or at hotels, schools and other customers who lease and service equipment with Bargreen Ellingson. No experience in this field is required! We're looking for someone who is mechanically minded and has a willingness to learn. If you're hands‑on, enjoy figuring out how things work, and are eager to develop new skills, we’ll provide the training you need to succeed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage their given territory with exceptional service to customer accounts. Install and maintain chemical dispensers at restaurants, laundry, grocery and health care facilities. Install and maintain dish machines from under counter to conveyor units at restaurants, grocery and health care facilities. Maintaining the appearance of the service vehicle, both inside and out. Managing parts inventory and conducting cycle counts for their assigned service vehicle as necessary, as well as following up on any discrepancies. Conduct routine and thorough preventative maintenance visits at customer accounts to ensure equipment is functioning properly. Respond to and resolve emergency service calls during business hours & after hours/weekends when on call. Rotating on‑call schedule is required. Create and maintain positive relationships with key individuals (customers, territory sales reps, suppliers, and co‑workers). Work with management to provide any necessary training for employees. Must be safety/security conscious, adhere to the guidelines in the Safety Manual, and report any accidents or incidents immediately. Be knowledgeable about and follow company policy and procedures. Outstanding relationship‑building skills coupled with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge: Professional, flexible and positive team player Familiarity with smart phones, tablets, and email Able to follow safety standards that vary from site to site Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams Overall mechanical aptitude Inventory management Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Desire to succeed in a high growth, fast‑paced retail environment. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Minimum Qualifications Warewash, laundry, or similar experience are a plus, but not required. Valid state driver license with clean driving record. Ability to drive a company work truck or vehicle. Successful completion of pre‑employment screenings, including a background check, motor vehicle report, and 5‑panel drug screen. High school diploma or equivalent. Work schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours with the possibility of mandatory overtime and on‑call status. Regular attendance is necessary. Overall mechanical aptitude If assigned to a vehicle over 10,001 pounds, a DOT medical card is required before starting. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs. Constant use of hand truck to lift, move and place items. Must be able to safely tolerate heat or other inclement weather. Ability to use power tools as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material.
