Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at a comprehensive stroke center in Dayton, OH, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Fast-paced Neuro ICU setting within a large hospital and comprehensive stroke center in Dayton, OH
• Neurological patient population including seizures, strokes, and various neurological diseases and disorders
• Also treats overflow ICU patients from Medical Surgical ICU and Heart and Vascular ICU
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Travelers are first to float at the discretion of the health system, within a specialty cluster, and may be assigned to a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the floated unit
• Floating may include the main campus (Dayton), South Campus (Centerville, less than 10 miles away), and North Campus (Englewood, less than 15 miles away)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips required
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience and/or 2 years of comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital with some neuro experience
• Minimum 2 years of total RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients with neurological diseases and disorders, including seizures and strokes
• All RTO must be submitted at the time of initial application — no RTO requests will be accepted after an offer is extended, and approval is at the manager's discretion
• A current Nursys report must be submitted for consideration
