Come grow with us! Broadwind Industrial Solutions is looking for a Buyer to join our team in Sanford, NC. The position purchases materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. The Buyer will work on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role where work is closely managed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Alerts Purchasing and Production teams of any delivery issues that may impact customer / WO promise dates.
• Confirm Purchase orders, update PO lines with delivery dates, and or date changes.
• Updates PO lines tied to RMA's, SDR's, and RFI's and alerts the proper team member.
• Assists with quoting.
• Schedules pick-ups from suppliers.
• Assists QC department with documentation requests from customers as required.
• Using MRP data, analyze the requirements of the material, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date material is needed in order to meet the demand of the customer and maximize production productivity.
• Evaluate new material/product specifications to identify prospective sources and determine should-cost.
• Solicit and evaluate proposals for the requested material.
• Communicate with suppliers on service, quality, inventory, and material movement.
• All other duties as assigned.

Academic/Experience/Credentials/Certifications:

• High School degree or equivalent; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Purchasing experience required.
• 2+ years' experience with a production/manufacturing environment and/or customer support experience.
• ERP system experience required, xTuple a plus.

Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Ability

• A strong degree of personal initiative, motivation and positive attitude.
• Knowledge of supply and demand process.
• Familiarity with scheduling systems.
• Effective at problem-solving and planning.
• Able to handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision and appropriate prioritization.
• MS office, with intermediate Excel skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with various departments and management.
• Ability to work effectively with others and communicate requirements to those who do not directly report to the position.
